Our Story
The property was purchased in 1965 by Hamish and Marge Drysdale. Back then it was a diary farm which was struggling to support it’s self so a decision was made to produce stock feed which has grown into the business it is today.
Established in 1968 the mill has been producing superior chaff products that are now available worldwide. Located amongst the beautiful back drop of the Yarra Valley this family owned business has become a household name with farmers and stock feed outlets throughout the region. Drysdale’s Chaff Mill has proven to be a top choice locally with a customer base that has increased to include International clients.
Over the years Drysdale’s have continued to be an innovative business that strives to improve efficiencies in order to produce some of the best live stock nutritional products on the market. Their approach to packaging has been well received, offering customers more produce per pallet in order for them to get the most out of the delivery cost. The plant is run using 80% solar energy and other environmentally driven processes such as recycling and utilising rain water.
Breeding and showing ponies Drysdale’s have a first hand understanding of performance enhancing nutrition. Louise Drysdale has been breeding and showing ponies for over 15 years having had many successes in the show ring.
“A healthy diet is paramount when showing. The condition of a horse will improve your chances of success when competing. If your horse feels good it will show in their performance.” Louise Drysdale
